My name is VAL TAYLOR. I live in Brighton and have been a midwife for 23 years. I believe passionately in women’s right to choose where they give birth and who will be with them during labour. Midwifery research and my own experience show how important it is to the labouring woman to have a midwife with her who she knows and trusts. More and more women are choosing to birth at home and this is a safe option for the majority of women.
Homebirths, Waterbirths and Education
I offer a wide range of NHS and independent experience, but my expertise is in homebirth, and I have spent the last 17 years practicing as an independent midwife. In this role, I am committed to providing women centred care, getting to know my clients and building a relationship with them over the months. The majority of women I care for give birth at home with little or no pain relief.
